Summary of Andrew Carnegie

Andrew Carnegie is a legendary Scottish-American businessman and is known as the "Steel King". He arrived in America in 1848 with only a few rare dollars in his pocket. By 1901, he was the richest man in the world of the 20th century.

With great power and influence, Andrew Carnegie was approached by a young journalist named Napoleon Hill. Naploleon Hill has a great passion for telling the stories of successful people.

Carnegie saw something special driving Hill, and in 1908 he decided that Hill would be the one to document all the tactics that had made him a legendary businessman and philanthropist.

Together, they pioneered the self-help genre, and Hill's 1937 book "Think he Grow Rich" became one of the best-selling books of all time.

When Hill began writing about success, Carnegie gave Hill his 10 rules for success, which provided a great foundation for Hill's work. The following is a summary of the above principles mentioned in the 4th edition of the book "The Science of Success" by Napoleon Hill:

1. Define your purpose

Create an action plan and start working towards it right away.

2. Create a “super brain alliance”

Reach out and work with people who "have things you don't," Hill says.

3. Going further

“Doing more than you have to is the only thing that warrants a raise or bonus, and makes people appreciate you,” Hill writes in the book.

4. Practice “Trust Tactics”

Believing in yourself and your partner completely makes you act with enough confidence.

5. Take the initiative personally

Do what you need to do without being prompted.

6. Nurturing Imagination

Dare to think beyond what is already done.

7. Enthusiastic effort

A positive attitude will bring you closer to success and earn the respect of others.

8. Accurate thinking

In Hill's words, correct thinking is the ability to separate facts from fiction and use relevant points to your own concerns or problems.

9. Focus on the effort

Don't get distracted from the most important task you face.

10. Profit from adversity

Remember that “There is always a corresponding benefit to every obstacle,” emphasizes Hill
